South Wales Police Custody Detention Officer September 2025 We are open for applications for the role of Custody Detention Officer (CDO) between 8th- 22nd September. The Custody Detention Officer role is responsible for assisting in the secure detention, care and welfare of detained persons and their property, in accordance with the powers as detailed in the Police Reform Act 2002, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. To support the Custody Sergeant conducting the booking in process, you will record the detained person’s possessions, take their fingerprints, their photograph and make sure they are secure in a cell. During their time in custody, you will take them food and drinks and make regular cell checks. There will be phone calls to answer, solicitors to deal with and a whole host of other things to do. This will offer you the exciting opportunity to work within our dynamic custody suites. We will build upon your skills and abilities and teach you to deal effectively and professionally with persons who have been detained in police custody. PSC 999/101 Call Handler - Incident Risk and Resolution Officer September 2025
We are open for applications for the role of 999/101 Call Handler between 8th – 25th September. This is a challenging job where we require unique resilient individuals that can work under pressure, prioritise workloads and use their initiative, whilst managing sensitive and sometimes distressing calls. Individuals need to understand the importance to provide a good quality and prompt service to customers.
